Longboat Key

The south end of Longboat Key was developed by the Arvida Company. Arvida purchased the old Ringling Hotel and land, and, some of the finest real estate in the world, on what we believe are the finest beaches in the world. Longboat Key is ten miles long and one mile wide at its widest point. It is divided into two counties, the south is in Sarasota County and the north in Manatee County. There is a distinct difference in the planning from the south to north ends of Longboat Key.

The flavor of the two areas is diverse from the type of architecture to the variety of real estate.   Prices range from under $200,000 to over $10,000,000.

The local government really takes pride in Longboat Key, and the property values are a reflection of that. Property values have continued to accelerate beyond other comparable resort areas. The area also seems to have a global appeal, attracting buyers from all over the world.
