Sushi & Snuffles: Our Newsletter # 1 – June, 2003

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  I'm Sushi, Director of Public Relations for My Realty Company.  My second son, Snuffles, is Assistant Director of Public Relations. Snuffles and I welcome you to our newsletter.

I have two other children, Obie, my first son and his sister, my daughter, Pebbles, both of whom live in the Toronto area. We are all purebred Bichon Frissees, but we are definitely not snobs. We like all dogs, including our mixed breed friends.

I am 11.5 years young, a Gemini, born June 6th, 1991, just outside Toronto. I married an American from just outside Cleveland, Ohio. (It was an arranged marriage!.) I was not too impressed at the time. He was a jock, a champion Bichon Frisse, who swept me off my feet. We married and had only one set of triplets, born in Lakewood, Ohio, on the 27th floor of The Winton Place, April 28th, 1994. They were born under the sign of Taurus, and now are now 8.5 years old. My mom, Sylvia, and I left Cleveland the summer of 1996, and landed, quite accidentally, in Longboat Key. That’s another story for another day!

We see each of our relatives often, except for Obie whom we have not seen for two years. (Sniff!) We do miss him though, very much, and we know he misses us. Don’t let anyone tell you that a mother dog does not recognize her own children after six months. It’s a total fallacy! I know them each very intimately, and each has their own individual personality. I treat each of them differently, too, which proves I haven't forgotten them.   Furthermore, I make them behave themselves and listen to me- or else!

Snuffles came back to the nest after leaving home for six years- very much like our human friends' children who suddenly appear back home. Of course, mother always knows best! It was an adjustment to have an adult child return home, but we have adapted very nicely and we are getting along just fine. Sometimes, he tends to get a little assertive and overly protective of me. Of course, it is difficult for him to understand that I did get along very nicely practicing diplomacy before my triplets arrived- something he has yet to learn.

Obie used to be my favorite, but Snuffles has now equally won my heart over, and I would miss him dreadfully if he ever left. For that reason, I convinced my mom, Sylvia, when she was looking for a new adoptive parent for Snuffles, that I needed an assistant.  Of course, you know who does all the work!

As you may already know, without me there would be no My Realty Company, since I was the inspiration for the founder, my mom, Sylvia Babineau, to create a pet-friendly company. Sylvia found that having me as a companion, I am, indeed, her best friend, and there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do to make her just as happy as she has made me.

If you look at our business cards, you will see a unique logo. Sylvia asked us to put our signature of approval on it. We very much approve of the fun-loving, child-like "MY" logo.  I think it captures perfectly the freedom of our agents and our customers, as well as the excitement and fun of being a part of My Realty Company. We were thrilled to put our paw prints of approval next to the logo.

We'll be sniffing out all the pet-friendly events that are happening here in Florida, so you can stay informed of helpful hints for keeping your little friends happy, (and that includes kitties, and our other animal friends as well)! So, check into our web page when you can, and we’ll do our best, between selling homes and barking happily at our neighbors as they pass, to update you on our likes, dislikes, and up-to-the-minute methods of taking care of your own pet best friends.

Some of the things we'll be sharing with you are our health challenges and how we overcame them through diet, exercise and a very, very special doctor in New York (who saved my right rear leg, and my life, from cancer). So, keep checking in. We love to share our successes and fun information.  We're even planning to share some more of our photos.  We are quite photogenic, as you will see!
